With a focus and commitment to continually increasing our internal capability and in alignment with the Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan, a newly created key leadership opportunity exists for a City Significant & Strategic Planning Manager to join our evolving Planning, Transport & Regulation (PTR) team.
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager Planning, Transport & Regulation, you will lead our City Significant and Strategic Planning team and play a key role in CN's PTR executive leadership team.
As the City Significant & Strategic Planning Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and advice, to ensure the delivery of effective strategic land use planning, precinct planning, heritage planning, design excellence, and the assessment of state, regional and city significant development applications.
The City Significant and Strategic Planning team are responsible for several key deliverables including the development of policies and strategies for land use, heritage conservation and planning, local infrastructure contributions, urban design and design excellence, and precinct planning. In addition, the Unit ensures that state, regional and city significant development is consistent with relevant legislation and planning instruments.
As the Leader of the City Significant & Strategic Planning team, you will play a key role in the development transformation of the city and to ensure the planning and design of the built environment of the City is achieved as envisioned in CN's Community Strategic Plan Newcastle 2040 - City of Newcastle (nsw.gov.au)
