Library Customer Support Officer

Libraries and Learning has an exciting opportunity for a temporary part time (14 hrs /week) position through until July 2023. 

Working across both streams within the Digital Services and Innovation Team you will support key initiatives such as the Tech for Loan collection, 3D printing and scanning, library technology trouble shooting and online content management support along with lifelong learning program support.  

In this role you’ll utilise your leadership capabilities as you will occasionally be the most senior staff member on a shift. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the team on shift and delivering consistent, high-level service to our members and visitors when rostered as Shift Supervisor. 
  • Supervising team members and helping to mentor them in the consistent, high-level delivery of customer/frontline service duties.
  • Assisting library users with circulation, reference, and information enquiries.
  • Championing the E-Library, assisting Library Members access platforms, online resources and help with technology related issues and enquiries across a range of devices. 
  • Conducting “Tech help” sessions in branch and over the phone.
  • Assisting with creating content for internal EDMs to provide digital learning opportunities to staff
  • Assisting with 3D printing, 3D scanning services and maintenance.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and investigating library technology issues
  • Actively promoting and encouraging participation in library programs and events; undertaking collection management duties as required.
  • Promoting the use of self-service technologies; as well as ensuring and maintaining a high standard of library presentation.
  • Any other projects or tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.
